SeqLab

SeqLab is the graphical X Windows-based interface to the GCG Wisconsin Package. Based on X Windows, SeqLab provides a point-and-click multiple sequence editor and annotation tool with access to all Wisconsin Package programs. The package includes sequence editing and about 50 additional programs beyond those those under SeqWeb. In addition to providing access to the 130+ analysis tools in the GCG Package, SeqLab offers a powerful, interactive sequence editor as well as convenient project management capabilities.

Based on published algorithms from the fields of mathematical and computational biology, the GCG Package includes:

  • Sequence Comparison
  • Database Searching and Retrieval
  • DNA/RNA Secondary Structure Prediction
  • Editing and Publication
  • Evolutionary Analysis
  • Fragment Assembly
  • Gene Finding and Pattern Recognition
  • Importing and Exporting
  • Mapping
  • Primer Selection
  • Protein Analysis
  • Translation

To access SeqLab, you must have a GCG account on the CHMC Genome Server. Contact Jamie Niemeier, CHMC Pediatric Informatics, to have an account established. You will also need X-Windows software in order to connect to the Genome Server. Please click here for more information.
