The Department of Molecular Genetics, Biochemistry, and Microbiology periodically seeks applications for ASSISTANT PROFESSOR or ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR positions with research strengths in bacterial and viral pathogenesis including but not limited to HIV, sexually transmitted organisms and emerging pathogens, and the capability and desire to utilize genomics including information generated by the various genome initiatives.
With 28 full-time faculty, we maintain strong active research programs in disciplines including molecular and cellular immunology, viral and microbial pathogenesis, differentiation, developmental and cancer biology, human genetics, structural biology, and membrane transport. We support an active graduate program and maintain core facilities accessible to all University faculty, for production of transgenic and knockout mice and DNA synthesis and sequencing. These opportunities are complemented by mouse physiology and pathology services in other departments and by the Barrett Cancer Center and the Cardiovascular Center providing a breadth of research opportunities unparalleled at most research institutions.
Our program can be visited through our home page.
